Once upon a time, deep down in the big blue ocean, there lived a jellyfish named Luna.
Luna was soft and round and beautiful.
And she had something very special.
She could glow. ✨
Pink and purple and pale blue, all at once.
But Luna had a problem.
Every night, when the ocean went dark, Luna tucked her tentacles in tight and squeezed her eyes shut.
“Too dark,” she whispered. “Too big. Too dark.”
And her glow went out.
Flick.
Just like that.
🌊 The Dark Comes
One evening, the sun went down very fast.
The fish went to sleep. 🐠
The sea turtles went to sleep. 🐢
Even the crabs tucked themselves under the sand.
The ocean went very, very dark.
Luna trembled.
Her tentacles shook like wobbly jelly.
“I can’t glow,” she said. “Not in all this dark. The dark is too strong.”
She curled up small and waited.
🌟 A Little Voice in the Water
Then a small voice floated through the dark water.
“Luna? Is that you?”
It was Mila, sitting on the dock above, dangling bare feet over the edge of the water.
Mila could see a tiny, faint flicker below the waves.
Almost nothing.
But almost something.
“Luna!” said Mila softly. “I can see you! You’re still glowing!”
“I’m not,” said Luna. “My glow is too small. The dark is too big.”
Mila thought about this.
Then Mila said something very quiet and very true.
“The dark can’t take your glow away, Luna. It’s inside you. It’s always been inside you.”
💜 One Small Glow
Luna opened one eye.
Just a tiny bit.
She looked at herself.
There it was.
A little shimmer.
Pink at the edges. Soft blue in the middle.
Small, yes.
But hers.
All hers.
Luna took a slow breath.
In through the top.
Out through the tentacles.
And she let her glow come.
Not all at once.
Just gently.
Like opening a door just a crack.
Glow.
Then a little more.
Glow.
Then all the way.
GLOW. 💜✨💙
The whole dark water turned soft and beautiful around her.
🐠 The Ocean Wakes Up
One by one, the little fish opened their eyes.
They saw Luna glowing in the dark.
A tiny shrimp swam closer.
Then another jellyfish drifted near.
Then a whole cloud of glowing plankton woke up too, sparkling like tiny stars. 🌟🌟🌟
The ocean was full of light.
Luna’s light had started it all.
“Oh,” said Luna softly. “Oh my.”
Mila clapped from the dock, quiet and happy.
“See?” said Mila. “You didn’t need the sun. You had yourself.”
Luna spun slowly in the water, round and glowing and warm.
She was not afraid anymore.
The dark was still there.
But she was shining right through it. ✨
